Acting is a muscle — and there's no better time to start building it than now. The Young Actors Program is for students aged 14–19 who are ready to challenge themselves, grow as artists, and become part of a community of passionate young actors. Like learning an instrument or training for a sport, acting rewards consistent practice — and the skills it develops reach far beyond the stage. Learning to pursue a clear objective, navigate obstacles, remain present when the stakes are high, communicate authentically, and work generously with others — these aren't just acting skills, they’re life skills. Our classes combine rigorous training with an encouraging, supportive atmosphere where every student is challenged to grow at their own pace. We take the work seriously, but never lose sight of the spontaneity and joy that brought us here in the first place. After all, it’s called a play. Led by Broadway veteran and Acting Muscle founder Adam Ludwig, the Young Actors Program brings the same conservatory-style training that has shaped The Acting Muscle’s acclaimed adult curriculum, thoughtfully adapted for teenagers. Every student begins with Core Technique, establishing a shared foundation before progressing through Creating Character, Scene Study Intensive, and Acting for the Camera as their skills, confidence, and artistry grow.

Courses 2026

I. core technique for young actors: discover your acting muscle

Fall session: wednesdays 16:00 - 18:00, september 16 - November 11
Fee: €350

Every actor needs a strong foundation. Core Technique is where you’ll build the skills, confidence, and creative courage that support everything that follows. Through games, improvisation, movement, and script work, you’ll develop presence, focus, imagination, and truthful connection while learning the fundamentals of professional script analysis. Whether you’re completely new to acting or have previous experience, Core Technique establishes the shared language and working process that prepares every student for the next stage of training.

II. creating character for young actors: BUILD your acting muscle

schedule TBD
FEE: €350

Once you’ve built a strong foundation, it’s time to bring characters to life. Creating Character explores how voice, movement, imagination, and script analysis combine to create believable human beings. You’ll learn to make bold, specific acting choices while developing characters with their own history, relationships, physicality, and emotional life. This is where acting stops being imitation and becomes transformation. Designed as the second stage of the Young Actors Program. Students with substantial previous training may be admitted by interview, though most actors benefit from beginning with Core Technique.

III. scene study intensive for young actors: STRETCH your acting muscle

schedule TBD
FEE: €400

Scene Study Intensive is where everything comes together. Working in a rehearsal-style environment, you’ll apply everything you’ve built in Core Technique and Creating Character while bringing challenging contemporary scenes to life. Through rehearsal, collaboration, and directorial feedback, you’ll develop the confidence, focus, and stamina to sustain truthful performances under pressure. The course culminates in a public presentation, giving students the opportunity to share their work with a live audience. Designed for students who have completed Creating Character. Students with substantial previous training may be admitted by interview.

IV. acting for the camera: focus Your acting muscle

schedule TBD
Fee: €400

The camera asks for something different. Acting for the Camera explores what changes—and what stays the same—when your audience is a lens instead of a theatre. You’ll develop an understanding of framing, eyelines, continuity, and technical awareness while preserving the spontaneity and emotional truth you’ve developed throughout the program. Whether you’re interested in film, television, or creating professional self-tapes, you’ll gain the confidence to work naturally on camera. Recommended for students who have completed Core Technique.
