I. Core Technique for Young Actors: Discover Your Acting Muscle

LEVEL: foundation course | no experience required
LOCATION: welserstr. 5-7, Berlin-schöneberg
Fall session: wednesdays 16:00 - 18:00, August 26 - October 14
Fee: €350

Core Technique is the foundation of the Young Actors Program. Through games, improvisation, movement, script work, and ensemble exercises, you’ll build the skills, confidence, and creative courage needed to grow as an actor. Whether you’re taking your first acting class or have already performed on stage, Core Technique provides the shared foundation every actor needs to continue developing their craft. It’s a welcoming place to challenge yourself, discover your strengths, and develop as both an actor and as a person.

You’ll learn by doing. Through playful yet demanding exercises, improvisation, and scene work, you’ll step out of your head and into the moment. You’ll train your imagination, develop focus, and become more expressive, responsive, and physically present. As your confidence grows, so will your ability to take creative risks, trust your instincts, and respond truthfully to the people around you.

You’ll also begin working with scripts, learning how actors bring stories to life. Together we’ll explore character, objectives, relationships, and the hidden meaning beneath the words. You’ll discover how to make strong acting choices while building the same technical foundation professional actors use on stage and on camera.

Just as importantly, you’ll become part of a supportive ensemble where everyone is encouraged to learn, experiment, and help one another succeed. Our small classes create an environment where every student receives individual attention while building friendships, confidence, and communication skills that extend well beyond the rehearsal room.

By the end of the course, you’ll leave with stronger acting skills, greater confidence, new friendships, and a solid foundation for the next stage of your training at The Acting Muscle.

Adam’s classes are full of creative and positive energy. Working on these great American plays and writing has been very inspiring for me and has helped me grow as an actress.
— Silvana Damm, Actor

Students will:

  • Build confidence through games, improvisation, and ensemble exercises.

  • Develop voice, movement, focus, and stage presence.

  • Learn the fundamentals of script analysis.

  • Work with scenes from contemporary plays written for young actors and adults.

  • Receive individual coaching and supportive feedback every week.

  • Strengthen creativity, communication, teamwork, and emotional awareness.

  • Finish the course with the skills and confidence to continue on to Creating Character.

Students are expected to come prepared, support one another, and contribute positively to the ensemble. We believe high expectations, consistent effort, and a supportive environment help every actor grow.
