Level: committed actors BY INVITATION
location: welserstr. 5-7, Berlin-schöneberg
FEE: €400
Fall / Winter Session: WEDNESDAYS 19:00 - 22:00, OCTOBER 15 - DECEMBER 10
Step into scene study and performance readiness. In Performance Prep, you’ll tackle high-stakes scenes and transformative characters, applying advanced physical and embodied storytelling techniques. The course emphasizes bringing text to life through action, emotion, and imagination, helping you bridge the gap between foundational training and intensive ensemble work.
The curriculum includes structured rehearsal, guided feedback, and exploration of diverse approaches to scene work. By the end, you’ll have a polished, audition-ready scene and the experience of performing it in a public presentation, giving a taste of live performance in a supportive environment.
This course is a bridge between the foundational work of the Core and Character courses and advanced formats like the Actor’s Gym and the Ensemble, offering both foundational scene study and an opportunity to stretch your skills. Advanced actors may enter by invitation.
Students in this course should be prepared to bring in scenes and monologues from dramatic texts that inspire them. A library of scripts will also be provided as reference and inspiration. Participants will have an opportunity to work with multiple scene partners throughout the course.
“The Acting Muscle course I took throughout the fall and winter of last year gave me the confidence and skills needed to apply and ultimately attend an amazing acting university in Los Angeles. ”
Instructor: Stephanie LeBolt
The course will be conducted in English. Students are encouraged to contribute ideas or ask questions in German or French. Copies of readings, assigned scenes, and plays will be provided.
