Core technique: Discover your acting musclE
In our introductory level class, you will learn by doing, warming up with games and exercises that get you out of your head and into your body, while activating your emotional capacity to interpret dramatic texts. An introduction to the fundamentals of text analysis enables you to understand the mechanics of a script and identify key elements like given circumstances, conflict and the actions characters take to achieve their objective in a play.
The Ensemble: Flex Your Acting Muscle
The Ensemble offers advanced students an intensive rehearsal process to prepare scenes and monologues for public performance. At this level, you are expected to thoroughly explore your script and to apply and integrate your analytical and imaginative skills. On your own and in class, you will build a detailed vocal and physical characterization, envisioning the universe of the play and how you relate to it. The course is structured as a series of rehearsals that culminate in a series of public performances.

This course builds on Core Technique, deepening your analytical and interpretive skills and giving you tools to develop fully realized, believable human characters. Collaboration and feedback reinforce your ability to intuitively navigate a dramatic text while making compelling acting choices. Exploration of advanced vocal production, articulation, and physical characterization will build your capacity to embody your imaginative discoveries.
Projects: student work
Ensemble members get to experience the thrill of stepping out under the lights and sharing their collaborative effort with a live audience. But our projects are about more than the thrill of being onstage and giving an adoring public a chance to see your talent at work. They are about community and coming together as a creative collective. Our projects offer our audiences inspiration and perhaps the courage to try out acting themselves. They also foster personal and professional relationships that will endure for years.
